Lana Del Ray

The lady herself, Lana Del Ray is scouring the world with her sheer beauty and wonderful cool tones of relaxation in her music. Her beauty can only be noted & commented on. Her famous pout to be admired. But what is it about Lana that we love so much?

I, myself, am a huge fan. Ever since hearing Videogames I was a full on mega fan! I truely believe that her eerie voice is beautiful and that all catwalks sound be blaring her music as models strut their stuff with the latest fashions. Lana is an icon of our time. She stands out from the crowd with both her tones of music & astounding beautiful looks.

Her latest release Blue Jeans is sure to be another big hit. I do think Lana has more to offer than most of the commercial hits out in the industry at the minute, she has something different to offer to us.

But it's not only musical talent that Lana has become famous from. The latest Mulberry addition known as the 'Del Ray' debuted at their Autumn show on none other than the arm of Miss Del Ray herself. According to releases, Emma Hill met Lana last year & was "captivated by her soulful, melancholy voice & the nostalgic beauty of her Video Games single & video". The bag is set to hit shelves in May & it will no doubt be a sell out.

I have to admire Lana's fashion sense. Apart from thinking she's stunningly beautiful I really like her sense of style. After watching an interview of her, in which she was wearing a Ferrari Formula 1 jacket, she had herself sold to me! Here's to hoping they become a trend too ;)

RTE The Voice Live Shows: Week 4

Can't believe we're on Week 4 of the live shows already! It was shocks galore on Sunday night's show and here's my weekly round up of all the action.

The gorgeous Kathryn Thomas, beautifully styled by the wonderful Ingrid Hoey, took to the stage and introduced Team Sharon on board to open the show with their Team Performance of 'Sweet Dreams'Really nicely put together Sharon & Co took to the stage and owned it! Team Bressie are up this week & I can't wait to see what they have in store for us ;)

Yet again all the contestants were amazing. Song choices were all bang on & everyone is giving their performances their all. I was really impressed by Kim, she certainly upped her game a lot from her last performance-she was great! Everyone seems to be taking all the judges comments on board & are working towards a better performance each time they step onto the stage.

I'm really enjoying the comments flowing from the judges too, they're really just hoping for the best from all the contestants. Bressie gives a good feedback to the contestants explaining what is needed from them now and further down the line in production terms. He tries to inform the contestants were their core strength lies and how to push these strengths in order to succeed. Kian gives critical feedback but we as the audience are basically thinking just what he's saying! He pushes the contestants, letting them know their faults and how they can be improved. Sharon gives genuine feedback from what she feels is good through her own interpretations of the music and through the passion she feels coming from the contestants themselves- she feels the emotion from the contestants singing. Brian too gives genuine feedback, informing the contestants on how they can push themselves with a strength and where their faults lie. He's not afraid to admit if he doesn't like the given performance but he'll always tell contestants on how to improve. It's a general good mix of feedback from them, helping us to keep a close eye out for the improvements to follow ;)

My favourite performance on the night came from Graham. I find him such a genuine, fun guy-typical entertainer! He owned the stage as if he's been in the business for years. He'd give Robbie a run for his money-dare I say it!!

The results show came round, Pixie flaunted her legs and gave a great performance and then it all got shaken up. I couldn't believe the result for Team Kian. I was devastated!!!! Couldn't believe both Liam and Graham were in the bottom two. Both contestants were two of Kian's best contenders. Poor Kian couldn't believe it either, god love him! Just goes to show that everyone's not just safe because they're good, so get behind the talent young un's!

We're back to Team Brian and Team Bressie this week-can't wait to see what's in store! Hoping Pat isn't too sunburnt (dayum ginger genes-I feel his pain!) & hoping Bressie's man flu goes away before Team Bressie all take to the stage with the man himself!
*insert summer song here* ;)

Who are you most looking forward to this Sunday?
Team Brian or Team Bressie? Or just Olly Murs? Yes guys Olly Murs is performing on the show, can you believe it?! Can't wait to hear him too!
Really looking forward to see what Ingrid has everyone wearing again as well, she's doing an awesome job every week so far-everyone's looking amazing!
Until next week's weekly round-up, enjoy tonight's repeat show on RTE2 & be sure to tune in on Sunday!
Hope everyone's enjoying the sun!

Bressie Plays the Olympia

Yes, the title says it all!

Our main man of the moment here in Ireland, Niall Breslin, better known as Bressie, will be playing the Olympia on 29th September 2012. Tickets go on sale tomorrow from Ticketmaster outlets at 9.00a.m. No doubt the show will be a sell out, it's his first announced under 18's gig, so I'm sure the young un's will be raring to go!

The Olympia itself is such an amazing venue, so I was well chuffed when he announced the news on Monday. After previously being blown away by Florence & the Machine there about 2 years ago, I have no doubt that Bressie will do the exact same and grow an even bigger, more supportive group of fans.

Everyone should be sure to go, the gig itself will undoubtedly be amazing, you get to look at the man himself in the flesh for hours & not forgetting to mention tickets will only be around 21 yo-yo's!
And sure if ye are lucky enough to go, take the man an penguin bar or wagon wheel, he'll love the extra treat ;)

Until tomorrow,
Shaunna :)

RTE The Voice Live Shows: Week 3 (Team Bressie)

So if you were lucky enough to have arisen from bed Sunday evening & lucky enough to not have had a headache after the crazy St Patrick's Day celebrations you would have had the joys of seeing what The Voice of Ireland contestants from Team Brian and Team Bressie had to offer to us this week.

Unlike last week one of the mentors and their team opened the show; Team Brian. Nice surprise for all the viewers, I myself wasn't expecting anything like that at all! It'll be interesting to see everyone else join together too.

I've decided to focus this week's post on the opening and closing acts of the night. They were probably my favourite two, so I'll stick with what I enjoyed :)

First onto the stage was Pat Byrne. I'm a huge fan of Pat's. He's a genuine, lovely guy and I really understand his love of music. His passion for music is plain to be seen. Singing Jets- 'Are you Gonna Be My Girl', Pat opened the show rocking with his guitar along with the new dancers of the show, choreographed by none other than Mr Breslin himself.... apparently he wore the outfit too....! *joke* Pat opened the show with a bang and everyone to follow kept the show on the road.

Closing the show with a stunning, energetic performance Conor Quinn gave us his all. He has gotten so relaxed about everything and seems to be really enjoying what he's doing on the show. The song choice was perfect for him, the upbeat 'Lonely Boy', made popular most recently by The Black Keys, ended the show on a high. We were left in suspense of who would be the unlucky two to go, it was honestly unable to call.

Team Bressie seemed to steal the show for me Sunday night. Everyone's song choice was bang on & did them all justice. I genuinely couldn't understand how Kiera ended up in the bottom two, she has been one of my favourite female vocalists since her audition so I was really shocked by that. But then again with only 5 acts per judge on the night its hard to predict these things.

The Guest Performance on the night was given by Rizzle Kicks, who I can honestly say I didn't really give much time to before I saw them perform on the show. Low and behold The Voice has managed to change it all, their interaction with the crowd was great and their dancing can't be ignored!! Really enjoyed their performance-my rapping skills are  slowly but surely improving! ;)

So who is everyone looking forward to seeing this week?
What would you like to see the judges & contestants get up to?
Will everyone up their game that extra mile?
Who knows!
Be sure to tune in to RTE on Sunday, no doubt the show will be immense ;)
Until next week....

RTE The Voice Live Shows: Week 2

Currently procrastinating- what's new? The life of a college student eh?!

As a Voice of Ireland nerd, this week's live show blew my mind! No, not exactly what you're all thinking, although yes, I did enjoy watching my main man Breslin rocking it up on stage ;)

The contestants were amazing! I was so impressed by how much everyone has upped their game. I even felt as though there was a rise in talent from the previous week's live show. Whether it was song choice, the styling (which I'm loving- Ingrid Hoey is currently another idol of mine, shes doing an immense job-pictures down below ;)) or just the fact that everyone's feeling the talent and sweat of competition among each other- I honestly don't know what it is but I'm loving it!

I'm not going to jump on any bandwagon  yet and announce I'm a certain 'Team Brian/Bressie/Sharon/Kian' or the likes yet, just going to wait and see how the contestants grow within the stages of the show, its what its all about in fairness! There's no doubt of the amount of talent in the competition but give them time to grow even more, you'll never know who'll gain the most from the show!

Above all, I'm not going to slate any of the contestants either, just leave you with my favourite performance of the night :)

and not forgetting my other favourite performance  ;)

Really enjoyed the judges performance, it was nice to see what the contestants are learning from :)

As well as all the bags of talent I can't leave this post without mentioning the work of Ingrid. Wow everyone is just looking amazing on the show, I would love to work with Ingrid-  I'd even consider entering the show in hope of being styled by the lady herself!
Here's just a sample of her work, which I took from her Twitter account, I was unable to get any pictures of the contestants, but stick on the old RTE player to have a little peep, its worth it I promise! ;)

I can't wait to see what this week's contestant's have to offer!
Are you as addicted to The Voice as I am?
Enjoy :)

Breaking My Fall-Bressie-9th March!

It's almost time for it folk's.
The 9th of March is falling upon us this coming Friday but not only that, Bressie's latest single 'Breaking My Fall', from his current album 'Colourblind Stereo' is set to be released.

The fine species of a man needs YOUR support so make sure ye all go out and buy it! It's time to pay him back for all that beauty we've been getting to see so much of over the past 9 weeks ;)

It's time to support our home grown talent and take him to number one. The single will have a b-side track 'Erica' and to make it more exciting his official website will be releasing snippets of the track throughout the week.

Come on Breslin, we can do it!

(Umphh here I go back to the world of studying Music since 1945, its tough going lads!)
